Kitchener Public Library has a monthly Book Club for Boys in grades 3-6. In February we read and discussed the Invention of Hugo Cabret by Brian Selznick. One of our members was not able to attend the meeting, so he sent a book review.
The only word I can use to describe his review is EPIC!
Please see Jacob's review below. I hope by sharing, it will encourage other young readers to pick up this wonderful tale and have a similar experience.
"I have been waiting SOOOO long to write this cause I finished it on the same day you gave it to me and mom didn’t let me write this until closer to the club meeting that I would miss... 😞 But this book was AMAZING!!!!!! OK HERE WE GO!!!!! This is one of those books you read and while your reading it just get right dead centre into it! Some of the pictures just made you feel almost scaredly misterious. You can almost feel how Hugo's struggles are. The end was really magical with the performing and everything. I loved the character development and the overall feel of the story just MMMMMM This was a gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood booook! I cant express in words or ANYTHING how good this book is!" -Jacob
